Who we are:
The Marysville and District Chamber of Commerce was founded by a group of local business operators
in April 2007. The Chamber is a non profit and non political business organisation operating in a sub
Alpine and tourism environment.

Marysvile and District - Narbethong, Buxton and (Taggerty).. constitute an area known as the Triangle.
These small towns and Marysville in particular, are located in the sub alpine region of Victoria, north of
the Yarra Valley, through the Black Spur in the Mystic Mountains. Melbourne is a 90 minute (95 km)
drive to its GPO.
Whilst the snow resort of Lake Mountain, Australia's biggest cross country ski resort, offers great snow
play for young and older, the Triangle offers a great escape from stress for daytrippers and
weekenders. A full spectrum of accommodation awaits the visitor. Come and enjoy a gourmet and
shopping experience or enjoy walks, fishing and fresh air.

Our Purpose:
1. To promote the potential, image, development and growth of commercial and retail business
opportunities and operations in the Marysville district, and in so doing to create a spirit of community.
2. To improve communication, networking, cooperation and coordination between businesses in the
Marysville district by fostering and maintaining positive working relationships with all commercial and
retail businesses.
3. To play a key role in formulating strategic plans and policies for economic development and
sustainable growth of businesses in the Marysville district.
4. To foster the interests of the Marysville district business community by representing businesses as a
collective voice.
5. To organise, promote, carry out and participate in various activities and events as determined that
are beneficial to the business community and that will increase the tourism potential of the Marysville
district so as to enhance the commercial opportunities available to business.
6. To work in conjunction with Local, State and Federal Government bodies and community-based
organisations for the overall benefit of the businesses in the Marysville district and specifically, to work
closely and jointly with Mystic Mountains Tourism Inc.
7. To collect, collate and provide to the business community information and statistics that are useful
and beneficial to businesses in the Marysville district.
8. To facilitate education and training opportunities for members as appropriate
9. To apply for, as appropriate, grant funding in pursuit of the Objects of the Association.
10. To affiliate with other Chambers' of Commerce, peak bodies or other organisations as appropriate in
fulfilment of the Association's Objects.
11. To be an apolitical Chamber that is non-aligned to any political party, political interest or political
purpose.
12. To undertake all such other activities as necessary and appropriate in pursuit of the Association's
Objects.

*NB: The Marysville district' is defined as the area that includes the communities of Marysville,
Narbethong, Buxton, Taggerty, Lake Mountain Alpine Resort and may include any other businesses that
fall within a 20 kilometre radius of Marysville.
